Suzuki Association of the Americas biennial Conference: May 26 - 29, 2016:


Who will be there?

Teachers, and students who have auditioned and been accepted into various student ensembles and masterclasses. Past participants from our program include recorder students Jack Hollihan, Suzuanna Bourque, Sophia Schoen, and Devan Prithipaul.

What will we do?

Have lessons with great performers, inspirational sessions on all aspects of teaching and learning, reconnect with friends and colleagues from around the world, and make new friends!

Every Child Can! : Sept. 20, 2014

9:30 am - 4:30 pm - Suzuki Charter School Staff Room


Every Child Can! is a one day introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program.


This course is mandatory for all new families entering the program. The cost is covered by your ESFRS beginner registration fee.

Graduation Recording submission deadline : Dec. 18, 2014


What is this?

Students who have reached certain milestones in the repertoire may may a recording of several review pieces for adjudication by a different teacher. Students who submit recordings may also participate as soloists in the annual “Groups & Grads” concert.

Who will be there?

All students and all group classes. Together we will perform highlights from this season’s repertoire, as well as featuring those students who submitted grad recordings as soloists.

Rehearsal for Spring Solo Recital: June 4, 2015

Who will be there?

Everybody!

What will we do?

Everybody gets to rehearse their solo with the pianist, as necessary. Any students who cannot attend their scheduled rehearsal are responsible for setting up an alternate rehearsal time with the pianist IN ADVANCE. Last minute rehearsals cause the concert to start late, which is not fair to the rest of the performers, especially those who are younger and need to finish on time to get home to bed!

Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival: April 22 -  May 6, 2015


Who will be there?

Students who have applied to participate in the Festival. For a detailed schedule, check out the dates on our Calendar here.


What is this?

In music festivals, students perform in a concert, but receive immediate feedback in the form of a mini-lesson from an adjudicator. Some performers are recommended for various scholarships or to move on to perform at the provincial festival a few weeks later.  All performances are open to the public.
